In Windows Vista UAC (User Account Control) may prevent Gmail Xpress to run properly even you are logged-in as Administrator and Gmail Xpress shows following warning.
If you are getting this error then you need to release some permissions to Gmail Xpress that UAC is blocking. To do it, you need to run Gmail Xpress with Administrative privileges.
Note: You must have administrative privileges to take following actions.
1. Open 'Windows Explorer' and navigate to Gmail Xpress installation folder. If installed at default location then it will be 'C:\Program Files\ADDiFF.com\Gmail Xpress'.
2. In right pane, right click on 'GXpress.exe' to open context menu and then select 'Properties'.
3. In property dialog, go to Compatibility tab, under privilege level CHECK the box saying 'Run this program as administrator'.
4. Click OK to close properties dialog.
5. Repeat same with AppLauncher.exe and AutoUpdator.exe.
6. Close windows explorer and run Gmail Xpress, now you should not get that 'Write access denied for files' dialog.
